Wireless Internet Service on Campus

What began as the D.A.W.N. initiative in the College of Education & Human Services has expanded to cover nearly all of campus with highspeed wireless access. As is noted in the lists below, effort was first given to the academic buildings and the residence halls, with the administrative buildings and other areas of campus following. Future efforts include expanding wireless access throughout the residence halls and to many of the green spaces across campus.

Secure Wireless

To ensure your security, the Western Illinois University wireless network utilizes a secure authentication mechanism known as 802.1X. This security mechanism protects your user name, password and all transmitted data using network encryption. To utilize this secure network, your network connection requires specific settings.
