Connecting to Network Drives from Off-Campus
To connect to network locations (e.g. the S: drive or the P: drive) from an off-campus computer, please see the following instructions. If you are already on campus, proceed to step 2.
- Download and install the AnyConnect VPN Client to your computer
- Go to vpn.wiu.edu and log in with Ecom username and password
- In the left-hand pane click AnyConnect and follow the on-screen instructions to install
- Launch the Cisco AnyConnect client and type “vpn.wiu.edu” in the box
- Click connect and sign in with ecom and password
- To connect to a server folder, follow the instructions for your OS below.
- Windows:
- Open File Explorer and select My PC in the left pane
- At the top select the Computer tab and click Map network drive and select Map network drive
- Click the Drive dropdown and select a drive letter
- In the folder box type the folder path
(ex: S drive “\\ad.wiu.edu\groups” or P drive “\\samba.wiu.edu\Files”) - Check Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials and press Finish
- Type in your Ecom@ad.wiu.edu and your password and check Remember my credentials
- The folder path should now be mapped
- Mac:
- In the menu bar at the top click Go and then Connect to server
- Type the server folder path and click the + button to save the address for next time
(ex: S drive “smb://ad.wiu.edu/groups” or P drive “smb://samba.wiu.edu/Files”) - Click Connect and enter your Ecom username and password
- Windows:
