Brian Thomas, Director of Campus Recreation

Brian joined Campus Recreation in January 2018 and was named Director of Campus Recreation in May 2023. He earned his BS in Exercise Science ('11) and MS in Kinesiology ('13) from Western Illinois University. Brian loves being in an environment where people work collectively toward the shared vision of providing the best possible services and programs for our students. He particularly enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping student workers to learn, grow, and excel.

Alan Arvin, Manager of Sports Facilities

Alan began working at Campus Recreation in July 2012. He had been the Intercollegiate Athletic Equipment Specialist for Leatherneck football since 2007. Alan has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Technology from Southeastern Community College.

Peter Skrypkun, Facility Operations Coordinator

Peter is a long-time WIU Employee (started in 1993) all of which has been spent in Student Services. He is a 1992 graduate with his BS in Psychology and minor in Law enforcement. Peter enjoys interacting with and teaching students the ways of the force, in that they gain a better understanding of the world around them, and how everyone has the ability to change the world.
