Institutional Loans
Note: These institutional loans are not currently funded for the 2022-23 Academic Year.
The Naomi I. Carnes Student Loan Fund has been made available through the memorial donation from Naomi Carnes of Baylis, Illinois. The purpose of the loan fund is to provide monies to highly recommended students from Pike or Morgan counties in Illinois who demonstrate financial need. The loan fund has been designated for students from Pike or Morgan counties in Illinois with a WIU Grade Point Average of at least 2.5, and who are full-time undergraduate or graduate students.
The Post-Twaddle Loan Fund has been made available through the memorial donation from Bertha “Betty” Post Cutler in memory of her father, Ira Post, and her mother, Ureatha Twaddle Post. The purpose of the loan fund is to provide monies to highly recommended upper class students in the Art or Music Department who are of good honest character and demonstrate a financial need. The loan fund has been designated for students in the upper 10% of their major class. This loan is open to upper class undergraduate through graduate class levels.
The Court and Grace Johnston Loan Fund has been made available through the donations of Erwin and Ruth Thompson of Godfrey, Illinois. The fund has been named in honor of Mrs. Thompson’s parents. Students to whom the loan is granted become a part of the tradition of people that have worked to make their dreams come true. Mr. Thompson worked for sixty-eight cents an hour when he came out of the service in 1946. Mrs. Thompson received $65 a month in 1939 when she began teaching.
The purpose of the loan fund is to provide monies to highly recommended students who demonstrate a financial need. This loan is open to juniors and seniors.
