Information Item Re: Report at Sherman Hall
November 11, 2009
MACOMB, IL – This morning (Wednesday, Nov. 11, at approximately 8 a.m.), University officials discovered a variety of sticks and branches that had been placed on the front steps of Sherman Hall. While the sticks had been placed in a fashion that appeared to be two or three words and an arrow, the message was illegible and indiscernible.
According to Office of Public Safety (OPS) Director Bob Fitzgerald, there are rumors circulating regarding this incident; however, OPS has investigated and will continue to monitor the situation. All events scheduled for today (Nov. 11) will continue as planned.
As always, the campus is asked to take notice of any suspicious behavior and report it to the Office of Public Safety immediately by calling 9-1-1 from any campus phone or 298-1949. There are also 51 emergency callboxes located throughout campus.
