Paint the Paws Kicks Off Homecoming Preparations Oct. 9

MACOMB, IL -- It's a sure sign that Homecoming at Western Illinois University is drawing near when Rocky's paw prints begin appearing around University Drive and Western Avenue.

Western students, faculty and staff are invited to kick off Homecoming 2008, "Rocky Loves the 90s," with the traditional Paint the Paws event Thursday, Oct. 9.

The Paint the Paws party will begin at noon on the front lawn of Western Hall. Participants are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch and entertainment before grabbing a paw print stencil and bright WIU Gold paint. Following lunch, paw painters can choose between two shifts -- or choose to do both: 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

No pre-registration is necessary; everyone is invited and welcome to participate. Student organizations should contact Patrick Walsh of the WIU Alumni Association at
