MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- You likely have seen Western Illinois University's Think Purple billboards across the state, or the University's 30-second spot on television or as part of movie theatre previews, or perhaps Think Purple t-shirts on the staff of a local restaurant. Now, you can use a Think Purple postage stamp on your letter or postcard to show your Western pride nationwide.

Western's Division of Advancement and Public Services recently developed Think Purple stamps for its correspondence to bring further visibility to the Think Purple campaign and Western Illinois University, according to Vice President of Advancement and Public Services Brad Bainter.

"Our new Think Purple stamps are an extension of WIU's marketing and branding efforts, and another way to promote Western Illinois University around the world," said WIU President Jack Thomas. "Our alumni, employees and friends can send Western greetings across the country. It's a great way to send the message of 'Think Purple, Think Pride, Think Western!'"

A sheet of 20 Think Purple WIU postage stamps can be purchased through the University Union Service Center and in person at the Alumni House or online through the WIU Alumni Association at
wiu.edu/alumni/wiustamps.php. WIU academic departments and organizations interested in purchasing stamps for WIU business correspondence can contact advancement and public services for more information. Approved by the U.S. Postal Service, the WIU stamps can be obtained for a first-class letter ($11 for per sheet of 20) or postcard ($8.40 per sheet of 20) rate.
