WIU Ranked 20 on Best Online Master's in Accounting For 2023

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University has been recognized by Online Master's Degrees as one of the Best Online Master's Degree Programs in Accounting. Western is ranked 20 out of 50 colleges and universities across the country.

WIU's Master of Accountancy prepares students for a wide array of careers in managerial and public accounting," said Director for the School of Accounting, Finance, Economics & Decision Sciences Jessica Lin. "Our program is one of a select few that maintains the supplemental AACSB Accounting accreditation, meaning our faculty and curriculum meet the highest standards in the industry. Furthermore we offer the program in a flexible format to meet the needs of students in Macomb, Quad Cities, or online.

WIU's Accounting program is designed to develop graduates who demonstrate the knowledge, skill and competencies necessary to enter the workforce and meet future career challenges. The program's curriculum offers two primary emphases in managerial or public accounting, ensuring graduates are prepared for either the CMA or CPA license exams.

In addition, WIU offers a unique integrated Bachelor of Business/Master of Accountancy program and is available to enrolled WIU undergraduate Accounting students. This program makes it easier for WIU undergraduate students to meet the 150 hour requirement for CPA licensure.

Accountancy graduate students can participate in extracurricular activities including, a nationally award winning chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, a Student Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants or volunteer in our campus VITA operations.

The program falls into the AACSB-accredited College of Business and Technology and has earned AACSB International accreditation.
