MACOMB, IL – Tamagotchi, AOL, Super Nintendo, Beanie Babies, Whitney and "The Bodyguard" … we could go on and on about all things '90s. To celebrate this famous (or infamous?) decade, head to Western Illinois University Friday, Oct. 1-Saturday, Oct. 22 for WIU's Homecoming 2022 celebration, "90s Blockbuster: Rocky Brings the Good Times Home."

WIU students Vanessa Barban and Sarah Cleveland are the 2022 co-directors of the University Union Board Homecoming Committee. Homecoming activities kick off Thursday, Oct. 13 with the WIU Alumni Association's Celebrating Town & Gown, followed by Paint the Paws on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Leading up to the Homecoming parade and football game, students will participate in a week of fun filled competitive events including:

Paint the Town – Oct. 15
Bubble Soccer & Chalk the Campus – Oct. 16
Variety Show – Oct. 18
Yell Like Hell – Oct. 20
Times and locations will be announced at a later date.

The Alumni Association will also host the traditional All-Alumni Social at the Alumni House, starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. Complimentary food, beer, wine and soda will be available, as well as a cash bar.
Homecoming day, Saturday, Oct. 22, starts out with the "Old Stompin' Ground Runaround" 5K run/1.5 mile walk. The Homecoming Parade will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by student events and an alumni cookout held at the "The Right Place" tent in Q-Lot. Events conclude with the Leatherneck football game versus Youngstown State, beginning at 3 p.m. at Hanson Field.
