WIU Board Chair, Alumnus Inducted into UIS MIS Hall of Fame

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Board of Trustees Chair and 1995 Computer Science Alumnus Doug Shaw has been inducted into the Management Information Systems (MIS) Hall of Fame at the University of Illinois-Springfield, where Shaw received his master's degree in MIS.

Shaw, a U.S. Army veteran, has been an IT professional for Caterpillar since 1997. He began his career as a program analyst and is currently a business process specialist in IT risk management at Caterpillar. Shaw has also taught management information systems as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois at Springfield-Peoria Center for 20 years.

He was appointed to the WIU Board of Trustees by Gov. J.B. Pritzker in March 2019, and was elected Board chair in June 2021.

Shaw is the past president of the Peoria Public Schools Board of Education and is the Board chair for Solvera Healthcare. He has previously served on the boards of Leaders Change Illinois, Illinois Valley Fuller Center for Housing, the Illinois Central College Scholarship Selection Committee, and the Planning Committee for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce's Community Leadership School.
