COVID-19 Test Clinic Update

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – COVID-19 test clinics (saliva-based tests) will continue to be held on both the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses prior to holiday breaks in November and December, and upon return to campus in January 2022, following the holiday break. The University will be closed Nov. 24-26 and from Dec. 24-Jan. 3.

Individuals who are unvaccinated and who attend classes and/or work on either WIU campus (Macomb and Quad Cities) must comply with the required weekly testing. Individuals may opt out of testing if proof of vaccination is provided (see information below).

Test Clinic Information

NOTE: No eating, drinking, smoking or brushing your teeth 60 minutes prior to testing.

WIU-Macomb: 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Student Recreation Center MAC Gym (south gym). Individuals on the Macomb campus who must comply with the weekly test requirement can register in advance at bit.ly/WIUCOVIDTestRegistration or walk-in.

November Holiday Test Schedule: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Nov. 22 only. Regular hours (see above) resume Monday, Nov. 29.

December Holiday Test Schedule: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 21 only.

January 2022 Schedule: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Wednesday, Jan. 5 only. Regular hours (see above) resume Monday, Jan. 10.

WIU-Quad Cities: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday; and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Riverfront Hall front desk.

November Holiday Test Schedule: 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 22 - Tuesday, Nov. 23 only. Regular hours (see above) resume Monday, Nov. 29.

December Holiday Test Schedule: 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 21 only.

January 2022 Schedule: 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Wednesday, Jan. 5 only. Regular hours (see above) resume Monday, Jan. 10.

All members of the WIU community are encouraged to test before returning to campus following winter break.

Non-Compliance Communication

Non-compliance emails will not be sent Nov. 22-28. Individuals who remain on campus Nov. 22-28 are still required to test by visiting the Macomb campus test clinic Monday, Nov. 22 or by going to an off-site location that provides a PCR-based test.

Non-compliance emails will not be sent during Dec. 13-19, Dec. 20-26, Dec. 27-Jan. 2, Jan. 3-9 (students only) and Jan. 10-16 (students only). Individuals who remain on campus during holiday break are required to test Dec. 20 or Dec. 21 and Jan. 4 or Jan. 5 on campus, or by going to an off-site location that provides a PCR-based test.

Vaccine Clinics

Vaccine clinics will continue to be held on the Macomb campus for WIU students and employees. Visit wiu.edu/coronavirus and click "Return to Campus" for the latest dates/information.

Vaccine Card Upload

Visit bit.ly/WIUVaxCardPortal to upload your card to opt out of mandated testing. Students (undergraduate and graduate students, including graduate assistants and teaching assistants) should upload to the "Student" portal, while WIU employees should upload to the "Employee" portal.

If individuals do not wish to upload the information, the vaccination card can be presented at the following locations: WIU-Macomb students: Beu Health Center; WIU-Macomb Employees: Sherman Hall 321 (Vice President for Student Success Office); WIU-Quad Cities Students & Employees: Riverfront Hall.

Students, faculty, and staff who are not physically on campus at all during the 2021-2022 academic year are exempt from these requirements. Individuals who are on campus, even for one class, must submit a vaccine card or comply with weekly testing.

Vaccine Incentive

A final vaccination incentive drawing will be held the week of Dec. 20 for $25 in Rocky Dollars (awarded to 25 students and 25 employees).

A testing program incentive drawing will be held the week of Dec. 20 for $100 in Rocky Dollars (awarded to 100 students and 75 employees).
