MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a lot of creative virtual events at Western Illinois University to keep people involved in activities, classes and programming, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is right in the mix with WIU's Discover Western programs going virtual.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will host five virtual events – one for each academic college – and one for the WIU-Quad Cities campus. The first event, College of Arts and Sciences Virtual Discover Western was held Monday, Oct. 12.

Other events will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (with the exception of the WIU-QC event) as follows:

College of Education and Human Services: Saturday, Oct. 17
College of Business and Technology: Saturday, October 24
WIU-Quad Cities: 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5
College of Fine Arts and Communication: Saturday, Nov. 14

Prospective students and their families can register for the events, which are free, at wiu.edu/discoverwestern.

According to Drew Donahoo, associate director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Virtual Discover Western events will include admissions information (including WIU scholarship incentives), college information, student and faculty panels, breakout meetings for academic programs and majors and informational sessions from University Housing and Dining Services, Financial Aid, Teacher Education programs, the WIU Centennial Honors College and student-led virtual campus tours.
