John H. Leach Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Retired Western Illinois University Associate Dean of the former College of Health, Physical Education and Recreation John H. Leach, of O'Fallon, IL, passed away July 24.
A graveside service was held Friday morning at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
Leach began working at WIU in September 1968, as a professor of health sciences. He was named associate dean in 1985, and retired from WIU in June 1993.
While at WIU, he earned numerous teaching awards, including Health Science Department Teacher of the Year three consecutive years; College of Health, Physical Education and Recreation Teacher of the Year; and Professor of the Year – a University-wide award.
Leach is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Rachelle; and one brother, Dennis.
