MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University Quad Cities campus will host its sixth annual Student Research Conference in a virtual format Monday, April 20-Friday, April 24.

The celebration of scholarly research is being carried out by students and their faculty mentors on the Quad Cities campus. The event will be available through Western Online, and was changed to a virtual format because of the social distancing requirements of the Coronavirus.

A Western Online course called "WIU QC Student Research Conference 2020" has been created to provide access to the presentations.

The research conference will include pre-recorded and live scholarly presentations by faculty and students about their research and special projects. The event will also include recorded and live artistic and creative performances by faculty and students.

The conference's keynote speaker is WIU Honors Psychology alumnus Brandon Kutmas, a 2011 and 2015 graduate with his bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology. Kutmas is a CEO and licensed therapist at Quad Cities Behavioral Health Associates. He will talk about how his time at WIU and his research and studies in the Centennial Honors College impacted his life and career success.

Participation in the conference is open to all WIU undergraduate and graduate students. Those interested in participating must submit an abstract of their work by Friday, April 17 to QC Honors College Coordinator Jim Rabchuk at JA-Rabchuk@wiu.edu.
