MACOMB, IL – Just because you're stuck at home because of the Stay at Home order doesn't mean you still can't take part in fitness and recreation. Western Illinois University Campus Recreation has created an At-Home Recreation Resources site to keep WIU students, faculty and staff motivated and fit.

The site, bit.ly/WIURecAtHome, provides links and resources to free fitness sites and apps, and more. Campus Recreation has also scheduled several virtual events.

"The name of the game during these challenging times are creativity and flexibility. We're trying to offer fitness and recreational options to our University community to help ease stress, add movement to your day and provide some breaks for your physical and mental well-being," said Nick Knowles, director of Campus Recreation.

Spring 2020 Virtual Recreation events for WIU students, faculty and staff include:

NFL 2020 Draft Order Challenge. Registration is open. To sign up, go to IMLeagues on the Campus Recreation website.

Fitness classes taught by Campus Recreation staff are available via Facebook Live every Monday and Friday at noon on the WIU Campus Recreation Facebook page.

A fitness challenge will begin March 30 and runs through May 1. Details are available on the Campus Recreation website. To participate: follow WIUCampusRec on Twitter; record or take a picture of yourself doing any kind of at-home workout; post your workouts each day of the week (M-F) and tag #WIUSTAYATHOMECHALLENGE; wear school colors. A winner will be selected every Saturday, and will receive a prize from the WIU Bookstore.

A Virtual 5K will be held Saturday, April 18. Information is available on the Campus Recreation website.
