Donna Goehner Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Funeral services for former Western Illinois University Libraries Dean Donna Goehner will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Schildknecht Funeral Home in O'Fallon, IL. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, also at the funeral home.

Goehner passed away Jan. 8 in St. Louis, MO.

She worked at WIU from 1968-1986 and 1988-1997, having served as the curriculum laboratory librarian, the periodicals librarian, the coordinator of technical services for WIU Libraries, the acquisitions and collection development librarian, director of libraries and dean of libraries.

Goehner was the first library director to be named dean. In 1991, she was named one of 24 distinguished delegates from Illinois to the White House Conference on Library and Information Services in Washington, DC.

She is survived by her husband, former WIU Physical Plant Director George Goehner, her daughter, Michelle, and granddaughter, Hannah.
