University Assembly: August 15

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The new academic year at Western Illinois University will kick off with the annual University Assembly beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 in Western Hall on the WIU-Macomb campus. The event, which will feature remarks from Acting President Martin Abraham, will also be live-streamed on the University's Facebook page, as well as on Abraham's Facebook page.

All faculty, staff and administration from Macomb and the Quad Cities campuses are invited to attend the event. Abraham will host an informal reception following the event in the east arena of Western Hall.

"I am excited to welcome everyone back to campus for the start of a new school year," Abraham said. "As I've said previously, we will work together to serve our students and provide a wonderful academic experience for everyone. It is a privilege to serve as the University's acting president, and I will work hard to ensure that our students, faculty and staff have a terrific year."
