MACOMB, IL – Artwork by nine Western Illinois University students was chosen by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) for its fourth annual long-term James L. Applegate Student Art Exhibition at the Springfield, IL IBHE Office.

During the Fall 2018 semester, the IBHE sent a call to public and private two- and four-year colleges to submit wall artwork in any media. The artwork was selected for display by a committee of IBHE employees and will reside on loan throughout 2019.

The selected art will be on display in the IBHE lobby, conference rooms and hallways. This year, IBHE selected 75 pieces from 41 student artists.

The following are the WIU art majors whose work was selected for exhibition: Silas Coggeshall (Quincy, IL), Vanessa Coleman (Havana, IL), Ashley Derry (Macomb), Noe Jurado (Aurora, IL), Andrea Kliffmiller (Macomb), Shannon Lundeen (Macomb), Hannah Rupert (Galesburg, IL), Alison Santillo (Orland Park, IL), Jeana Williams (Canton, IL).

"We are very proud of our outstanding and talented students and appreciate this wonderful opportunity for them to exhibit and be recognized for their hard work and creative efforts," said Kat Myers, chair of the WIU Department of Art.
