MACOMB, IL –– The Office of Study Abroad and Outreach at Western Illinois University will host its study Abroad Fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 in the big tent behind Stipes Hall.

Information will be available about the programs WIU offers in more than 60 countries around the world, as well as the hundreds of scholarships earmarked specifically for international education opportunities and internships.

The program will have faculty leaders, affiliate providers, returned study abroad students and various campus offices available for students to speak with about all the opportunities to study abroad from short-term courses to semester programs and internships. Semesters studying abroad are available in a wide variety of academic disciplines and are affordable, with most financial aid and Commitment Scholarships available to be used toward the cost.

"We organize Study Abroad Fairs twice a year to share with WIU students available opportunities," said Pedro Bidegaray, director of Study Abroad and Outreach at WIU. "This year, we want to add to that display, additional events to make the event more entertaining and attractive. Members of the Casa Latina will attend and perform, and students from the performing arts will do some acrobatic exercises for us."

Free snow cones and cotton candy will be available.
