CBT Director of Development Update

MACOMB, IL -- A fourth candidate for the director of development for the Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology will interview Friday, June 1.

Jeremy Wingerter, director of development at the University of Southern California (USC) Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, will be on campus June 1. An open session will be held from 1:45-2:30 p.m. in Sherman Hall 205.

Wingerter has served as the director of development since August 2015. Previously, he was the director of alumni relations for the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences from 2011-2015. Wingerter has also served as senior associate director of alumni clubs and communities (2010-2011) and as the associate director of lifecycle programs (2008-2010) for the USC Alumni Association; as the associate director of career services (2006-2008) and assistant director of career services (2004-2006) at Northwestern University's Alumni Association; and the assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement at Norris University Center (2001-2004).

Wingerter earned his master's and bachelor's degrees from Iowa State University, and his associate degree from John Wood Community College in Quincy.

Rick Pesavento, director of community engagement at the Opportunity House in Sycamore, IL was on campus April 20; Janice Winbigler, associate development officer at Monmouth College was on campus April 23; and Abbie Pendarvis, associate director of the Monmouth (College) Fund, was on campus May 9.

Pesavento has served as director of community engagement (development director for people with developmental disabilities) at the Opportunity House since 2016. Previously, he was the general manager of grants and project management for the Collaborative Healthcare Urgency Group in Des Plaines from 2013-2016. Pesavento has also served as the director of development for the DuPage Senior Citizens Council (2013), the fundraising manager of the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (2009-2013), a territory sales representative for All American Fence (2008-2010) and as an account manager for J.C. Woods Refinishers (2007).

Pesavento earned his master's degree from Benedictine University and his bachelor's degree from Marquette University.

Winbigler has served as an associate development officer and donor relations associate at Monmouth College since 2014. Previously, she was the gift officer secretary at Monmouth College from 2010-2014. Winbigler has also served as an insurance producer for the R.A. Reynolds Agency in Monmouth and as a customer service representative for NovaMed Alliance in Roseville.

Winbigler earned her bachelor's degree from WIU.

Pendarvis has served as associate director of the Monmouth (College) Fund since October 2016. Previously, she was the assistant manager of summer programs and conference services at Washington University in St. Louis from January-October 2016. Pendarvis has also served as the conference coordinator for summer programs and conferences services at Washington University (2015-2016); as the event manager for the Peoria Civic Center (2014-2015); and as the lifestyle/events coordinator for the Silver Palms RV Resort in Florida (2013-2014).

Pendarvis received her bachelor's degree from WIU.


The director of development reports to the executive director of development in the WIU Foundation and Development Office, and provides overall leadership for the college's fundraising program, with primary emphasis on securing major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations to support academic priorities of the college and the goals and objectives of the University's strategic plan "Higher Values in Higher Education."
