Troop Donation Drive Set for April 17

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Corbin- Olson dining hall will host a "Coolchella- Be Cool-Send Western Overseas" troop donation drive from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17.
 
Items that can be donated include: baby wipes, lip balm, eye drops, lotion, barbeque sauce, sunflower seeds, toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton swabs, shaving lotion/cream, disposable razors, shampoo, individually packaged tissue, drawing pads, cough drops, hand sanitizer, foot/body powder, mouth wash, notepaper, envelopes/stamps, pens/pencils, powdered drink mixes, cocoa, coffee, ramen noodles, seasoned salt, hot sauce, energy bars, tuna/ sardines, beef jerky, Icy Hot/Tiger Balm, sunscreen, lens cleaner, antacids, nail clippers, feminine hygiene products, aspirin/pain relievers, Mac n' cheese cups, chips, trail mix, cereal bar, cup-o-noodles, cans of ravioli/spaghetti, snack crackers, Pop Tarts, dried fruits, nuts, cookies, candy/gum, snack cakes, popcorn, peanut butter, salsa, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzle books, Frisbees, paperback books/novels, playing cards, Sudoku,, seek and find word books, and current magazines.
 
No aerosol cans will be accepted.

Girl Scout cookies will also be available for sale and can also be purchased for soldiers overseas. Letters will also be accepted to include in the packages.
 
Donations can also be dropped off at the Veterans Resource Center, located at 333 N. Ward St., in Macomb. The deadline for donations is Monday April 27.
