MACOMB, IL – Western Courier Editor-in-Chief Nick Ebelhack, a senior history major from Plainfield, IL, brought home three awards from this weekend's Illinois College Press Association competition in Chicago.

Ebelhack won first place in the weekend's "Shoot Chicago" photo shoot, where participants are sent out into the city of Chicago to shoot photographs under this year's theme of "politics." Ebelhack also won third place for columns and honorable mention for headline writing.

Winning entries were chosen by a panel of journalists.

"I am very proud of Nick and the Western Courier staff for their hard work and dedication," said Director of Student Publications Will Buss. "The student editors, photographers and writers produce outstanding journalism through in-depth coverage of the campus and Macomb community."

The Western Courier is the University's student-run newspaper, which is distributed free on campus and in the community three times each week. For more information about the newspaper, visit westerncourier.com.
