First Wednesday Art Program Nov. 1 at WIU

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host the monthly First Wednesday program from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex (HPA) and the WIU Art Gallery.

The event is open free to anyone who wants to experience art. This month's schedule includes:

Garwood Hall activities:

• Printmaking with WIU professors Julie Mahoney, Jan Clough and Bill Howard - Garwood 13

• Screenprint T-shirt designs (bring your own shirt) with Professor Susan Czechowski – Garwood 11

• Art project for children with Associate Professor Ta-teh Ku - Garwood 24

• Graphic design with professors Bruce Walters and Terry Rathje – Garwood 22

• Photographs: Digital photography/exhibition reception for Professor Jenny Knavel – student art gallery, third floor

• Painting workshop with professors Damon McArthur and Tim Waldrop – Garwood 30


Heating Plant Annex activities:

• Sculpture with Associate Professor Duke Oursler – HPA 105

• Copper and aluminum bracelets with WIU Department of Art Chair Kat Myers – HPA 107.


The WIU Art Gallery will also be open during the First Wednesday event.
