MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — Western Illinois University students are encouraged to make their academic advising appointments soon so they can register for Spring 2017 during the upcoming registration periods.

Students must meet with their academic advisors before they can register, so it is imperative that students have advising appointments prior to registration dates in November. According to the WIU Council of Academic Advisors, this will help the students stand the best chance of being able to register on time and get the courses they need to graduate.

Students can find their Spring 2017 advance registration appointments on the STARS registration screen.

A general summary of registration assignment periods for Western students follows:

  • Graduate students: November 1, 2, 3
  • Seniors: November 3, 4, 7, 8
  • Juniors: November 8, 9, 10, 11
  • Sophomores: November 11, 14, 15
  • Freshmen: November 15, 16, 17, 18

For undergraduate students, an advisor directory (based on majors, and includes advisors' contact information and locations) is available at www.wiu.edu/advising/support/Advisor_List_2016-2017.pdf.
