Behind the bricks and mortar, there are the people of Western Illinois University and the Macomb community.

Who I Am: Caitlyn Herzlinger ... Yoga Ninja/Movement Professional. I'm a certified yoga instructor and nationally recognized stage combat teacher. I'm originally from Hyde Park, NY. I graduated from Western with my MFA in theatre in 2011.

What I Do: I teach acting, movement for actors and stage combat. I'm the owner of Summer Moon Yoga at Make Fit Happen in Macomb, where I instruct yoga with two other Leathernecks. This past semester I directed Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl and fight directed Private Lives at Eureka College. In addition, I choreographed the fights for The Rover at Monmouth College.
Why I Love WIU: WIU means high quality education to me. What impressed me the most about the theatre department was that my professors had an extensive amount of knowledge and the ability, talent and want to share it with their students. There was no doubt that I got what I paid for at WIU. I love Western because it is a school that I feel puts their students first and provides quality education time and time again. I'm proud to be a Leatherneck and I love my community, that is why I stayed!
