MACOMB, IL – Bradley Bourbonnais (IL) High School senior Jacob Anglin has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

"I selected Western because it has my intended major and the value of education is very reasonably priced compared to other colleges," said Anglin. "They have a wide variety of majors, plentiful scholarship opportunities and well-priced tuition."

Anglin said he expects to major in pre-veterinary medicine at Western.

At Western, Anglin hopes to become part of WIU's Honors College as well as recreational sports and volunteering in the community.

After graduation from Western, Anglin hopes to further his education in veterinary medicine.

In high school, Anglin participated in his high school's math team, leadership club and in volunteerism.
