WIU Supply Chain Management Day Sept. 16

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology and the Department of Management and Marketing will host the 12th annual Supply Chain Management (SCM) Day Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The event is designed to foster interaction among employers, current and prospective SCM students and faculty and staff.

The SCM Career Fair will be from noon-4:30 p.m. in the University Union Grand Ballroom. A dinner with employer representatives, students, faculty and staff will follow from 5-7 p.m.

MHI Vice President of Education and Workforce Development Daniel Stanton will be the keynote speaker during dinner. MHI—the nation's largest material handling, logistics and supply chain association—offers education, networking and solution sourcing for members, their customers and the industry through programming and events, including ProMat and MODEX.

Stanton worked for more than 20 years as a logistics and supply chain professional and educator. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Caterpillar and several smaller firms. In addition to his role with MHI, he is a supply chain management adjunct professor at Bradley University. He earned a Master of Engineering in logistics and supply chain management from MIT in 2008. He has also earned an MBA, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in education and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Stanton is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration from the Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield University, U.K.

It is free for companies to register to visit, set up a table display and talk with students. Companies who wish to register should do so by Wednesday, Sept. 2.
