MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Women's Center will host a Red Cross blood drive from 9:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 in the first floor Activity and Multipurpose rooms of the WIU Multicultural Center.

The drive has a goal of collecting 30 units of blood during the event, and donors must bring photo identification.

Women's Center women's health outreach student assistant Kiara Hardin said the Women's Center invites and encourages all who are eligible to donate blood. Regular donors who have not donated since Jan. 7 may be eligible. According to the American Red Cross, every one donor can save the lives of three people.

Individuals are encouraged to register for the blood drive by calling the Women's Center at (309) 298-2242 before Monday, March 2. Donors may also register online at redcrossblood.org and enter zip code 61455, then select WIU Multicultural Center/Women's Center. While advance registration is encouraged, walk-ins are welcome.
