WIU-QC University Technology Director Interviews Set

MOLINE, IL -- Two candidates for the director of University Technology (uTech) for Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will be on campus for interviews Friday, Dec. 5 and Friday, Dec. 12.

Candidates include Christopher David, assistant director, WIU-QC Technology (Dec. 5); and Jeffrey Calhoun, Linux systems administrator, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Dec. 12). Interview schedules and candidate resumes are be available online at wiu.edu/employment.

An open meeting will be held with each candidate from 9-10 a.m. at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities, Riverfront campus in room 3420A of the Quad Cities Complex, and via videoconference to the Macomb campus [Stipes 121 (David, Dec. 5) and Union Capitol Rooms (Calhoun, Dec. 12)].

David has served in his current position since October 2008. Previously, he worked as Microsoft server and desktop security specialist, IT systems manager and microcomputer support specialist positions at WIU. David earned his master's and bachelor's degrees from Western.

Calhoun has served in his position at the University of Illinois since 2012. Previously, he was the vice president of technology for the McDonough Telephone Cooperative (2008-2011) and was president/CEO of leadership, Project Management (1995-2007). Calhoun received his bachelor's degree from Western.

The director of University Technology at WIU-QC works in collaboration with the other uTech directors, and provides leadership for implementing the University's information technology strategic plan at the QC campus. The director oversees the uTech teams that support the WIU-Quad Cites campus technology, leads cross-functional teams and helps manage budgets.
