V-Day Performance Auditions, Meetings Scheduled at WIU

MACOMB, IL – Auditions and meetings have been scheduled for Western Illinois University's 2015 V-Day production of "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer."

V-Day is a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through artistic benefit performances. The V-Day performances will be held Feb. 19-21 on the first floor of the WIU Multicultural Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Cast auditions will be held in the Multicultural Center from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10; 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. To register for a 10-minute audition spot, call the WIU Women's Center at (309) 298-2242, or visit the Multicultural Center, suite 209.

For those interested in being a part of the team organizing the production, meetings will be held on from 5-6 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 6, 13 and 20 and Dec. 4. A team retreat will be held from 3-6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 and an all-cast and crew rehearsal will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.

No theatre experience is required and those auditioning will be asked to read selections from the play.
