MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois University junior Ashli Augsburger, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, has started a new and exciting program on campus for students who love country music.

CMA (Country Music Association) EDU is a college program that works closely with the CMA on projects presented to the group throughout the semester. The mission of the program is to strengthen the awareness of country music and recognize the genre's success. The program also aims to educate the next generation of leaders about the country music industry.

Each semester, students will hear from different country music industry leaders and artists and gain insight about the growth and changes in the industry. The program's goal is for students to gain a new appreciation for country music and the successes within the industry.

Augsburger started recruiting students in January and has been putting the final touches on the program before it became finalized in April. CMA EDU can be found on college campuses all over the United States. It was originally founded in 2010 Nashville, TN, at Belmont University.
