Edward B. Kurjack Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus Edward B. Kurjack, 76, of Melbourne, FL passed away Saturday, Aug. 2 in Melbourne.

Kurjack came to WIU in 1971 after working as an instructor and curator of the anthropology museum at Miami University in Ohio. He retired from WIU in 1999.

After receiving his bachelor's degree from Florida State University in 1962, Kurjack received his master's degree from the University of Alabama in 1964 and his doctoral degree from Ohio State University in 1972.

Kurjack had worked extensively studying and doing archeological research in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Ecuador, as well as in the Philippines. He had also published numerous scholarly books.

Kurjack is survived by three brothers and two sisters.
