MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Department of Theatre and Dance is bringing "Oklahoma!" to the Hainline Theatre stage Friday - Saturday, April 11, 12 and Wednesday - Friday, April 16, 17, and 18. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Set in the Oklahoma territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful story line in which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, fall in love. Their romantic love story is a bumpy one, but nonetheless, they plan to make a new life together. And this brand new life will begin in a brand-new state, "Oklahoma!"

The production is directed by Rachel Chaves, with music by Richard Rodgers and libretto by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Tickets are $15 for the public; $13 for senior citizens and youth and free for WIU students with valid identification.
