Local Restaurants Donate Portion of Proceeds to WIU Relay for Life

MACOMB, IL – Eight Macomb restaurants are participating in a weeklong effort to help raise money for the student-run Relay for Life of Western Illinois University.
Between Friday, April 4 and Friday, April 11, the Macomb restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to the local Relay for Life event, which will be held Friday, April 11 from 4-10 p.m. near Hanson Field.
Local restaurants participating in "Restaurant for the Day for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life" include:
• Friday, April 4: Sunrise Restaurant, 307 W. University Dr., 5 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Saturday, April 5: Rocky's Bar & Grill, 1420 W. Jackson St., 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Sunday, April 6: Guadalajara, 1319 E. Jackson St., 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Monday, April 7: Sports Corner @124, 124 N. Randolph St., 3-11 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 8: Red Ox, 1302 W. Jackson St., 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 9: El Rancherito, 1514 W. Jackson St., 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Thursday, April 10: Larry A's Pizza, 1506 E. Jackson St., 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 4-10 p.m.
• Friday, April 11: Vitale's, 403 W. Jackson St., 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
This year's Relay for Life event will include entertainment, a variety of activities, a survivor lap, recognition of survivors and caregivers and the popular luminaria ceremony.
To register for the WIU event, visit relayforlife.org and search "Macomb." The registration fee is $10. Those who register can then add friends, family, co-workers, fellow students, faculty or staff members to join their team.
