MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University Choirs will present "On Nature and Spirituality" Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m. in the COFAC Recital Hall.

The concert will explore connections of nature and spirit from different perspectives from the cultural importance of nature for Native Americans in the United States to the working class from the musical "Pippin." J. Aaron McDermind's "From Light to Light" is a featured work, drawing the connection between nature and spirit and looking at the heartbeat of God, the flesh of man and a connection between the two through the aspects of nature.

The concert will feature music by Robert H. Young, John Rutter, Gerald Finzi, Joseph M. Martin, W.A. Mozart, Andy Beck and J. Aaron McDermid. This selection of music and composers will allow listeners to find nature and spirit in multiple cultures and share in the experience as a community.

The concert will include two WIU choral ensembles; The University Singers, conducted by Dr. James Stegall and the Concert Choir, conducted by Heather Zosel.
