Wachter Awarded Centennial Honors Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – River Ridge High School senior Corey Wachter, of Elizabeth, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Wachter said he will likely major in pre-pharmacy at Western.

At Western, Wachter said he hopes to participate in intramural sports.

In high school, Wachter participated in basketball, baseball, football, FFA, National Honor Society, Math Club and WYSE.

After graduation from WIU, Wachter plans to work continue his education toward a pharmacy degree.
