MACOMB, IL – Brimfield Community High School Senior Luke Golemon, of Brimfield, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Golemon said he will likely major in pre-med at Western.

"An excellent education coupled with reasonable costs and multiple academic scholarship opportunities ultimately swayed my decision," he said.

At Western, Golemon said he hopes to participate in band, ultimate-Frisbee and soccer programming.

Throughout high school, Golemon participated in football, cross country, track, Scholastic Bowl, WYSE, student council, the prom committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Boy Scouts.

After graduation from WIU, Golemon plans to attend medical school and move on to become a family practice physician.
