Media Advisory: Go West 20 Millionth Rider

You are invited to attend the 20 millionth Go West rider celebration at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at the Macomb Transit Center on East Pierce Street. Go West Director Jude Kiah expects the 20 millionth rider to board a Go West bus on or around Nov. 15. The lucky rider will be recognized at the Nov. 18 ceremony.
What started with three buses in 1999, has grown to a fleet of 28 buses and 19 routes. And as the number of buses and routes increases, so does the number of people riding. The system, which carried a total of 1.85 million riders in 2012-13, will carry approximately 2 million riders this academic year.
