MACOMB, IL - The Paranormal Investigation Team of Illinois (PITI) will visit Western Illinois University Saturday, Nov. 23 to tour Simpkins Hall.

The PITI group investigates for spirits in commercial and residential historical buildings throughout the Midwest. PITI officials contacted WIU recently to inquire about touring the academic building.

"We reassure homeowners and business owners that some spirits are not harmful and help them live in harmony with each other. For those that are harmful we can assure them that we can help remove it from their home or business," said PITI Case Manager Sarah Cook.

The organization, which was formed two years ago, conducts its research using various pieces of equipment. Other buildings the group has toured include Bobby Mackey's Music World, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Pollak Hospital, Willow Creek Farms, Old Havana Gym, Ashmore Estates and The Egyptian Theater.

PITI officials have prepared two webcasts and are preparing a seminar on the paranormal to be presented at Black Hawk College in Moline, IL.
