WIU Professor Directs “The Belle of Amherst” May 16-18

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University Department of Theatre and Dance Professor Jeannie Woods will direct the Starry Night Repertory Theatre's production "The Belle of Amherst," Thursday-Saturday, May 16-18.

The production will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Old Bailey House, 100 S. Campbell St., Macomb.

"The Belle of Amherst," by William Luce, follows the life of Emily Dickinson from the age 15 until her death. The play uses Dickinson's poetry to portray her relationships with family, teachers and friends.

Tickets ($20 for public; $15 for seniors; and $10 for children and students) can be reserved by calling (309) 255-8570 or by emailing StarryNight@Macomb.com. They will also be available at the door.

The Starry Night Repertory Theatre is a non-profit group partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council and the Two Rivers Arts Council.
