MACOMB, IL – Members of the Western Illinois University student chapter of the Music Teachers National Association are holding a fundraiser for the MusicLink Foundation.

According to student organizers, "Promise to Practice" is a fundraiser that receives pledges from participants to practice their musical talents for a certain number of hours a day for a week. The week-long practice marathon for musicians raises money for the MusicLink Foundation, which provides help in the form of financial aid for lessons or for instruments to children who want to participate in musical programming.

Donations for this year's event will be collected Monday, March 4 - Friday, March 8. Last year, the WIU chapter raised $600 for the foundation.

This is the fourth year the WIU chapter has participated in the event.

For more information on the event contact student chapter President Marina Nir at M-Nir@wiu.edu or chapter advisor Tammie Walker at TL-Walker4@wiu.edu.
