University and Madrigal Singers Concert Sept. 30

MACOMB, IL - - The University Singers and Madrigal Singers of Western Illinois University will perform their fall concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
Under the baton of Director of Choirs James Stegall, the University Singers will perform "Blow Ye the Trumpet," by Kirke Mechem, "Zion's Wall" and "Simple Gifts," by Aaron Copland, "Choral Reflections on Amazing Grace," by Roger Ames, "Bright Morning Stars," by Shawn Kirchner, "Wondrous Love," by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, "Creation," by William Billings, and "Shenandoah," by James Erb. Associate Professor Terry Chasteen and seniors Hillary Pieper of Moline and Megan Willis of Good Hope will be featured soloists, and faculty assistant Minjung Seo will accompany on piano.
Stegall will also lead the Madrigal Singers in their program that includes, "Polly-Wolly-Doodle," "Oh, Dear! What Can the Matter Be?," "Soon One Mornin' Death Comes Creepin'" and "Little Bird, Little Bird," by Gail Kubik and "Soldier, Soldier, Won't you Marry Me?," by Robert DeCormier.
The concert is open free to the public.
