WIU Graduation Fall 2012

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - More than 1000 students earned academic degrees after the 2012 Fall semester at Western Illinois University. Of these, more than 130 graduates' primary attendance site was the WIU-Quad Cities campus.
Bachelor's degrees were awarded to more than 760 students. 79 of these students were awarded Western's Bachelor of Arts in General Studies (formerly the Board of Trustees-Bachelor of Arts degree), which allows students to earn a regionally accredited undergraduate degree online in a way that fits their educational needs and lifestyles. Master's degrees were awarded to 245 graduates, and 11 individuals earned post-baccalaureate certificates.
Academic distinction was awarded to baccalaureate graduates who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.
