School of Ag Greenhouse
Construction crews broke ground July 8, 2014 for the Western Illinois University School of Agriculture's greenhouse project. According to School of Agriculture Director Andy Baker, in the initial phase, two 16 ft. x 48 ft. greenhouses (with a connecting hallway) are being built near the University's Livestock Center, located north of campus, just south of the Harry Mussatto Golf Course's parking lot. The greenhouse assembly is moving along nicely. The glass roof is installed, concrete floors are polished, and inlet louvres are in place.
The greenhouse structure finally arrived on Friday September 12. Yeah! Assembly began on Saturday September 13.
The smooth floors should be done by today. The greenhouse structure arrives September 3.

Foundation walls were poured today, along with sewer line hook up.
At the end of the second week, the footers are complete and the insulated foam forms are in place for the side walls. Looks like everything is progressing nicely.
The footers are poured and electricity has been relocated.
