Student employment in the University Union is an excellent opportunity to meet people on campus, learn new skills, build upon current skills, and make connections with staff.  The University Union has a variety of student employment opportunities within its departments including the WIU Bookstore, Union Service Center & Hotel, Scheduling & Event Services, and Event Production Services.  Join the Union team to gain one-of-a-kind experiences only available to the University Union student staff!

Why Work in the Union? 

Working in the Union provides many benefits.  Not only does it provide on-campus employment, but it is also proven that Union student employment provides skills that are transferable to the future careers of our student staff.  In addition, being a part of the Union student staff team provides a sense of community during your time at WIU.


A survey of the 2023-2024 Union student staff showed the following:
