ROTC Scholarship Requirements
Army ROTC is the best leadership course in America and we're looking for scholars, athletes and leaders to become future Army officers. The program is based on college electives and activities that you take right along with your other classes. But ROTC is like no other class you'll take.
In Army ROTC, you develop your leadership abilities. There are activities such as rappelling and survival training to help increase your self-confidence and discipline. Your studies may include time management, communications, and small-group decision-making. Ultimately, you'll learn about the Army and what it takes to become an officer.
When you're finished, you'll have earned your degree and the impressive leadership credentials of an Army officer, as well as opportunities for rewarding service.
Qualifications for Scholarships:
- Earn a passing grade in all subjects taken.
- Maintain a cumulative academic GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Obtain a semester GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all ROTC courses.
- Meet the height/weight standards per AR 600-9, the standard for active duty soldiers, by the Spring semester of MS III year
- Attain the minimum standard on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT).
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 17 years old by 1 October of the year of enrollment as a scholarship cadet if enrolled in the fall.
- Be under 27 years old by 30 June of the calendar year in which eligible for appointment. An extension of up to 3 years may be granted to prior service applicants if the applicant will be under 30 years old by 30 June of the calendar year that he or she is eligible for appointment. The length of extension may not exceed the actual period of active duty service.
- Be of good moral character as evidenced by home, community, and school activities.
- Exhibit a strong desire to obtain a commission and pursue a military career in the Army.
- Possess potential to become an effective Army officer. Leadership potential will be emphasized as a very important factor for selection and continuation of a scholarship.

- Appearance
- Personality
- Academic Excellence
- Extracurricular Activities
- Physical Fitness
- Be medically qualified
- Be free of mental reservation that would cause students to be unable to execute the loyalty oath.
