MAJ Martin A. Aquino was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He is a 2011 graduate of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico (Arecibo) with a M.A. in Teaching & Education in Mathematics. MAJ Aquino commissioned as a Adjutant General Officer and completed the Adjutant General Basic Officer Course in 2011. He also completed the Adjutant General Captains Career Course at the Fort Jackson, SC in 2017.

His formative assignments include Brigade S1; HHD, 595TH TSB, Camp Arifjan, KU, MEPS XO, San Jose MEPS; Chief, HSC, U.S. Army South, JBSA, Battalion S3; HHC, Allied Force South Battalion, Italy, Brigade S1; Area Support Group, Qatar, 9th Psychological Operations Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC. 

MAJ Aquino has served in multiple Contingency Operations around the Central Command and South Command AOR in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Operations Spartan Shield and Operations Inherent Resolve. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal Campaign Star, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Military Volunteer Service Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement, Overseas Service Ribbon (3), ISAF NATO Medal and Parachutist Badge. 

He is joined by his wife Mary Aquino from Medellin, Colombia. Together they are raising two boys and two girls – Martin (12), Abiezer (10), Valentina (21) and Salome (13).
