I. STUDENT APPEALS
A. Business Administration
1. Request to waive the 6-hour C rule
Dr. Feld stated that the student began in the Supply Chain Management PBC at the beginning of the pandemic and has transitioned into the MBA program as well. The initial low grade was from the first semester and is being retaken now. Dr. Feld added that the program supports this request and the student is very close to finishing the certificate and degree.
Motion: To approve the request. (Hammersley/House)

B. Education
1. Request for a late withdrawal
Discussion was held over the submitted petition and documents.

C. Sport Management
1. Request to waive the 6-hour C rule
Student attended with Dr. Polubinsky and Dr. Sonkeng. Dr. Polubinsky stated that the department fully supports the student. Dr. Sonkeng added that he has shown a huge commitment to the program and to WIU so they would like to see him receive his degree.
Motion: To approve the request. (Barr/Blackinton)

II. GRADUATE FACULTY – FULL MEMBERSHIP
A. Qingqing Zhu, Assistant Professor, Psychology
Dr. Zhu and Dr. Lane were in attendance. Dr. Hemphill asked for clarification on the terminology used in the publications list. Dr. Lane added that the specific program that Dr. Zhu works with is relatively small but needs an equal spread of the workload amongst the faculty. Dr. Zhu stated that she wants to be available for students to work with as the chair of their committees and has worked with a few students already. Dr. Hammersley asked about the project that she is currently working with. Dr. Zhu responded that it is more of a preventative mindset for students with a multi-tiered level of support. Discussion held about the project.

B. Graduate Council Nomination and Election Update
Ms. Schulz reported that an election ballot for the College of Arts and Sciences is currently open with a deadline of this week. The College of Education and Human Services has their seat filled and the College of Fine Arts and Communication is still in process but will likely have a ballot go out in the next few days. Everything was handled via email and Google Form submission again this time which has a much higher response rate than the paper ballots previously used. The elected representatives will be invited to the final meeting of the 2021-2022 academic year for introductions and election of the chair and vice chair positions.
