Options for Departmental WID Proposals

  1. an existing required course which already includes writing instruction;
  2. an existing required course to which a writing instruction component has been added;
  3. a new required course;
  4. a series of two or three existing required courses, each with some emphasis on writing instruction;
  5. a series of elective courses with writing instruction components, from which students must select one to complete;
  6. a one-hour "add-on" course which students may elect to complete in conjunction with any departmental course;
  7. a 300 level writing course in the English department;
  8. an appropriate WID course in another department;
  9. a team-taught course;
  10. a seminar; or
  11. an individual tutorial.
