E-mail/ECom

The Electronic Communications (ECom) system is the hub for electronic communication for students, faculty, staff and organizations at Western. Your ECom username provides access to e-mail, personal web space, online courses, and servers for programming and research.

Accessing Your ECom Username

Your ECom username is printed on your temporary ID card. You may also login to STARS and select "Addresses" from the menu to access your ECom username.

Activating Your Account

Activate your ECom account by going to www.wiu.edu/guava. Select Account Activation and use your lower case ECom username.

Checking Your Mail

Once your account has been activated, check your WIU e-mail at www.wiu.edu/email. Western Illinois University sends important e-mail to your WIU e-mail account, including your grades. Please be sure to check your WIU e-mail regularly.
